About Us
Manchester Dragon Taekwondo club was formed five years ago from a grant from the Community Chest. Originally based at St Philips Church in Gorton the club soon grew so we re-located to Longsight Community Hall.
Our unique funding enables us to offer access to TKD at subsidised rates and with more than 20 regular students the club has proven itself to be big success with the local community.
In 2007 we were successful in obtaining a grant from Awards for All which enabled us to purchase much needed equipment for the club like competition matting, head protectors etc which has benefited the level of training we are now able to provide.
In March 2009 we affiliated with BTCB this has meant we can now enter competition.
As we are not like most clubs in as far as we don't run as a small business, we are a community club. The club beneifts from strong community spirit, parent involvement.
